Taliban A Political Force Again?

The Afghan government is outraged that Obama would consider sending an envoy to Qatar to engage in peace talks with the Taliban.

After a 12-year war should the U.S. extend an olive branch to an enemy eager to overthrow the current democratic regime? The Pashtun tribesman who make up the majority of the Taliban governed through Sharia and tribal law until shortly after September 11th, 2001. They and their allies committed massacres against civilians, denied UN food supplies to 160,000 starving people and conducted a policy of scorched earth, burning vast areas of fertile land and destroying tens of thousands of homes during their rule from 1996 to 2001. Hundreds of thousands of people were forced to flee to United Front-controlled territory, Pakistan, and Iran. Now, as insurgents hiding in caves, they are responsible for 80% of the civilian casualties in the country. Their brutality continues on to this day: http://www.voanews.com/content/taliban-executes-pregnant-woman-in-afghanistan--100285019/166171.html

Because of the anger from the Hamid Karzai government, Obama has put talks with these terrorists in exile on hold...for now. Under his administration the Muslim Brotherhood has cemented its rule in the Arab world and Afganistan may be on its way back to executing women for adultery in soccer stadiums.
