A Canadian Heritage Moment: Hungry, Hungry Indians

Étienne Brûlé was born near Paris in 1592. Growing up, he dreamt of coming to New France and learning the ways of the Indians. Champlain made this possible and he set sail at the age of 16. He lived life as an Indian, learning their languages. He became the first French explorer to see the Great Lakes.

In 1633 he was killed by the Hurons who ate him.
