Canada Sends Bingo Playing Minnesota Grandmother To Jail

Canadian border guards recently jailed a 66-year-old Minnesota grandmother on the basis of a faulty drug test. A can of motor oil in her van tested positive for heroine. She had been crossing the border into Manitoba in the hopes of playing bingo; instead she spent 12 days in a Winnipeg jail.

But then, it's not surprising that our border guards were so over zealous: Had the grandmother been guilty this would have been the first time in history someone has tried to smuggle drugs from the U.S. into Canada. Usually drugs go in the opposite direction.
