Regional Beer Wars in Canada

Coors has gotten itself into some trouble with an ad campaign in British Columbia. They've put up billboards claiming that their beer is colder than the people from Toronto. It was suppose to be a fun ad, poking light at regionalism. Torontonians in B.C. saw the ads and complained.

This leads me to ask whether people took this too far. Does anyone realize what's been going on with Labatt Blue for years? The bottles carry a red maple leaf in Ontario, but something similar to a fleur in Quebec. And isn't the slogan, 'Proud to be blue,' directed to be non-malignant to the English, but speak to Quebec's national pride?

That's what happens when we nit-pick. So Torontonians, admit you're pretty cold, and let B.C.'rs make fun.
